This painting represents ocean acidification. The industrial revolution, burning of fossil fuels like car emissions, deforestation etc has led to increase in CO2 in the atmosphere out of which 30% is absorbed by the ocean. Ocean is usually alkaline but due to increase in CO2 it becomes acidic which is impacting ocean species and organisms like oysters and corals.
